The author reflects on the school shooting made at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. She informs that U.S. President Barack Obama declared that the Americans were brokenhearted and said that the country must be together and take meaningful action. She informs that the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) suggested the opening up a conversation by asking children how much they remembered about what happened in Newtown.
