ABSTRACT
The article discusses U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officers such as John Kiriakou and Jeffrey Sterling who have been charged with disclosing classified information to reporters since 2007, including under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. The CIA's interrogation of suspected terrorists, Kiriakou's attitudes to torture, and his career as a spy for the CIA are discussed, as well as his work in Pakistan and his spy training.
