Chobani: Evolutionary at Accelerated Speed

This article showcases the Greek yogurt making plant of Chobani in Twin Falls, Idaho. The plant was built in record 326 days by Shambaugh and Son with a small number of workers numbering 1,000 or more. Hamdi Ulukaya established Chobani, which means shepherd in Mediterranean, in 2007 after he found the yogurt he purchased in New York tasted different from what he used to eat in Turkey. The plant's instrumentation and controls as well as its design and energy-saving features are also discussed.
