Bank on our compliance

ANGRY Cypriots used JCBs to try to damage ATM machines at the weekend after the EU imposed a tax on bank accounts as a condition of that country's bailout. Of course, we do things differently here. We're grumblers, rather than protesters - which probably means that we won't be seeing any Irish homeowners hacking away at their houses with a JCB as a response to the loathed property tax anytime soon. Mind you, it would be a novel way to ensure a low valuation on our home.
