ABSTRACT
In the circumstances of modernising and diversifying the educational system, traditional instruction, based on contemporary methods of conveying knowledge, skills and abilities, no longer manages to cover the huge volume of competences issued from the development of society. Thus, the present paper aims at evincing, through a quiz conducted among high-school pupils and teachers of physical education, the opinions on increasing the efficiency of the physical education lesson, the teaching methods used, the assessment of the pupils' attitude towards the lesson, observing the factors contributing to the increase of the efficiency of the educational process, as well as forming and developing the pupils' interest in these aspects. The results of the sociological quiz emphasise the teaching methods and their variety within the educational process, to increase the efficiency of the instructional activity of the pupils, which are limited. Many teachers apply the same teaching methods within the topic and the lesson type in the same sequence, thus depriving the lesson of efficiency and attractiveness.
