Power system planning faces a severe challenge in market environment, especially grid-generation coordinated planning becoming crucial. In this paper, relationship between grid planning and generation planning is deeply analyzed. Based on the analysis, coordinated planning is introduced, and a model for all-system cost optimization is established with both grid variables and generation variables. At last, a calculated example is given.
