ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the "Low Carbon Economy Index" report of PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC) which stated the need to cut the rate of worldwide carbon emissions by an unprecedented rate to 2050 to stop global temperatures from rising to more than 2 degrees in the 21st century. The report stated that carbon intensity should be cut by more than 5% annually to achieve the goal. The report also revealed that the highest rate of decarbonisation was found in European Union countries.
