ABSTRACT
THE death this week of the 13th London cyclist to be killed this year, Brian Florey, reinforces the case for a much bigger focus on cycle safety. A major London Assembly report today criticises the Mayor for spending half the cycling budget on cycle hire. It calls instead for cycling to get a bigger share of City Hall's budget and for a proper, protected cycle network. This is what London's cyclists now deserve: we have had far too many tragedies like Mr Florey's.
