ABSTRACT
The article reports on the benefits that diabetic patients can find from becoming advocates who fight against diabetes and educate others about diabetes. A discussion of the role that advocacy can play in helping to fight against discrimination against people with diabetes is presented. Work that the American Diabetes Association plays in helping advocacy initiatives is discussed.
