ABSTRACT
The article discusses Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his reportedly nonviolent movement for Palestinian statehood as of October 2012, including information on Abbas' speech at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in which he asked the international body to grant Palestine full membership in the UN. The UN nonmember observer state Palestine and its ability to petition the International Criminal Court to investigate alleged war crimes against Palestinians are also addressed.
