ABSTRACT
The article focuses on China's economic situation in 2012 and speculates on how reduced growth could be a good thing for China. It states that quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) statistics reveal China's growth is 7.6 percent, its slowest level since 1999 excepting for one quarter during the global financial crisis of 2008-2009. It talks about electricity consumption in China which suggests China's manufacturing sector is flat while its local retail sector may be improving.
