ABSTRACT
The article provides an overview about smartphones powered by multi-core central processing units (CPUs). The benefits of using a multi-core smartphone are outlined which include optimal performance, energy efficiency and increased responsiveness of the user interface. Several multi-core CPU based smartphones are highlighted which include the iPhone 4S from Apple Inc., the One X from HTC Corp. and the Galaxy S III from Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
