ABSTRACT
The article reveals that the telecommunications sector in Ukraine has fared better than others in spite of the adverse impact of the global economic crisis on the country. It attributes this to the close relationship being developed by Ukraine with the European Union (EU) and its pursuit of a policy for integration. It explains the significance of this move on the country's telecommunication sector in terms of tighter regulation and its capacity to compete within the market forces of the Union.
