ABSTRACT
The article presents an analysis on the proposed Medicare reimbursement cuts for 2012. The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) updated the Medicare home health prospective payment system (HH PPS) rates by 2.75 percent due to alleged coding creep. Tables including the proposed 2012 Nonroutine Supplies (NRS) categories and payment rates, and proposed 2012 per-visit amounts for low utilization payment adjustments (LUPAs) and outliers are also presented.
