ABSTRACT
In this paper is presented the application of an approach to establishing a degree of utilization of machine capacity is presented. The method discussed in this paper refers to the theory of sampling. The paper discusses the possibilities of applying the current observations to obtain information about the degree of utilization of production capacity. The presented analysis indicates the possibility of successful application of the theory of sampling in the management of production facilities. This paper investigates the influence of the degree of capacity utilization on shortening the duration of the production cycle and increase of productivity coefficient.

Motivated by the challenges faced by the telecom industry during the past decade, in this paper we study a dynamic capacity expansion problem for service firms.
