ABSTRACT
The article discusses a U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Special Forces operation carried out during the early weeks of the U.S.-Afghan War which sought to oust Afghanistan's Taliban-led government, which supported the terrorist al-Qaeda group. The operation also utilized Afghanistan's anti-Taliban Northern Alliance military group. Unconventional warfare tactics were utilized along with aerial bombing campaigns.
