ABSTRACT
The article explores why small and medium enterprises need to reduce carbon dioxide emission in New Zealand. It states that most national economies are dominated by SMEs and they are responsible for a large proportion of the total pollution. The author comments that the efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emission will lead to improvement of economic performance, offers competitive advantage and satisfies consumer demands.
