ABSTRACT
The article discusses online anonymity and the development of programs which could identify Internet users. The use of the online social networking sites Facebook and Google+to connect Internet activity to a user's real identity as well as authorship authentication software and identity tracking systems such as BlueCava are examined. Other topics include the implications of software for Internet fraud and self expression, pseudonyms, and research on online behaviour.
