ABSTRACT
The article discusses the role of social media in building the customer base of Stark Bro's Nurseries and Orchard Company. The Louisiana, Missouri's 195-year old nursery, which sells their products directly to consumers via catalog and online sales, utilizes Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletters, blogs, and a website to reach their customers. Two full-time workers handle the company's social media program, which has over 1,000 followers on Twitter and 6,000 fans on Facebook.
