ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the significance of information assurance (IA) at the annual U.S. Army Reserve Signal exercise Grecian Firebolt (GF) 2004 in Fort Meade, Maryland. The protection of information in a combat theater was ensured by the 311th Theater Signal Command (TSC). The need for the TSC to employ a risk management approach is cited. The Department of Defense (DoD) Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) reportedly posed a challenge to IA.
