ABSTRACT
The article reports on the impact of social inequality and poverty on the economy of Latin American countries. The inequality and poverty are two socioeconomic factors that prevent countries in Latin American from prospering. They have been on the decline over the past 10 years due to strong economic growth, efficient income distribution, and decrease in the earnings gap between high and low-skilled workers. Policies introduced to address poverty and inequality are mentioned.
