ABSTRACT
The article examines the reverse migration of African-American people to the suburbs and to the Southern U.S. states. According to the author, the exodus of African-Americans in cities such as Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles, California has significant implications for African-American representation in the U.S. Congress. The author notes that the urban exodus of African-Americans and the burgeoning Hispanic population has decreased the geographic concentration of African-Americans.
