ABSTRACT
The article reports on the potential treatments offered by stem cells with differing risks and benefits in 2011. According to research, stem cells have the potential to be a future option in treating ocular conditions like age-related macular degeneration and proliferative diabetic retinopathy. The author adds that stem cells are categorized as parthenogenetic stem cells (hpSCs), induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), adult stem cells (adultSCs) and human embryonic stem cells (hESCs).
