ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the government of and political conditions in Tunisia. It is said that the country has a strong presidential system and has been dominated by the Democratic Constitutional Rally (RCD) for 25 years. The bicameral legislative body of Tunisia is comprised of the 214-member Chamber of Deputies and the 126-member Chamber of Advisors. Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has been in office since 1987 and is on his fifth term after winning the 2009 election.
