ABSTRACT
The article discusses the insistence of the Democrats in the U.S. that they are soft on defense by overcompensating with support for wars and extravagant war spending. It stresses that the Democrats are still backpedaling and allowing themselves to be placed on the defensive about their alleged softness of defense. It believes that the Democrats' insistence is to feel justified in overcompensating and coming down on the side of war.
