Study recommends raising biodiesel price in India

The article discusses the study "Realistic Cost of Biodiesel in India" by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The study recommends the need to increase the price of jatropha-based biodiesel in order to establish a sustainable biodiesel industry. It stresses the potential saving of about 30 billion rupees and revenue of about 55 billion rupees if the rural econonmy will use two percent jatropha-based biodiesel. It adds that biodiesel will help reduce 3 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emission annually.
