ABSTRACT
The author argues that the Japanese government has placed its people, particularly the children, at greater health risks in its effort to reassure the population after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. He observes how children have been going to school wearing silver hats in an attempt to protect themselves from potential fires and debris during aftershocks. The author also recommends the evacuation of children and pregnant women within 200-300 miles of the Fukushima nuclear power plant to safety.
