ABSTRACT
The article analyzes the national political implications of a state Supreme Court judicial election in Wisconsin, which served as a proxy battle over a controversial labor policy bill. Conservative incumbent judge David Prosser was challenged by JoAnne Kloppenburg, and the very close vote is said to indicate that Republicans will face substantial opposition when trying to implement entitlement reforms.
