ABSTRACT
The article discusses results of a survey regarding the Australian public's view toward nuclear power in relation to climate change and as an affordable energy option. It says that 86% of respondents said they were very or fairly concerned that electricity will become unaffordable, and 69% said they were very or fairly concerned that supplies of fossil fuels will run out. It also mentions that majority of respondents expressed fair interest in both climate change and nuclear power. It states that results suggest Australians' preference of renewable energy sources over nuclear energy, and that they are likely to accept nuclear power stations if it will help reduce the impact of climate change and improve energy security.
