ABSTRACT
The article offers the author's insights on the increasing trends in mobile multicore processors as shown at the 2011 Mobile World Congress (MWC). Qualcomm Inc. announced that products using its second-generation central processing unit (CPU) called as Krait will sample later in 2011, wherein performance similar to Cortex-A15 is expected to be delivered. Broadcom Corp. also announces its BCM28250 that combines dual-core processor and cellular basebands, while ST-Ericsson has been sampling U8500.
