ABSTRACT
Highlights of country forecast for Spain is presented. The popularity of the minority Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) government of Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero is being weighed down by the people's disgust with the downed economy and austerity programs, says the article. If Spain is to compete triumphantly within the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), reforms, including changes to the labor and pension systems, will be needed.
