ABSTRACT
The report presents forecasts for the political and economic conditions in India, as of June 1, 2010. It is stated that several legislation, which could increase long-term investment prospects, have been delayed in the parliament due to a weakened support for the All-India Trinamool Congress and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. It cites the risks brought about by the Naxalite insurgency. According to the report, an increase in debt would also increase the risk of a downgrade to the sovereign debt rating of India.
