Education Could Do More to Assist Charter Schools with Applying for Discretionary Grants

The article presents a study conducted by U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the application for discretionary grants to assist charter schools in the U.S. It speculates on the eligibility for charter schools in applying for federal discretionary grant programs as well as the role of the Department of Education (DOE) in establishing the charter schools' grant programs. However, GAO has suggested that DOE should elucidate grant opportunities for charter schools.
