MPAs at a Turning Point, as Drones Take Off

This article points out that the concept of maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) is undergoing a radical reorientation with the advent of unmanned air vehicles (UAV) or drones. One among several advantages of drone MPA is its ability to fly higher to increase sensor range. It presents information on the MPA fleet of the U.S. Coast Guard which include Lockheed Martin HC-130J Hercules and Sikorsky H/MH-60T/J.
