ABSTRACT
The article explores trends in the souvenir and gift buying habits of American and Canadian visitors at attractions in Toronto, Ontario, according to individuals in charge of gift shops and/or retail buying for some of the attractions. Kelly Nesbitt of the Fort York National Historic Site, relates that U.S. parents tend to spend more than their Canadian counterparts. Laura Gibson of the Bata Shoe Museum, shares that grandparents tend to buy high-priced items for their grandchildren. Plush animals are the top-selling items at the store in the Toronto Zoo.
