ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. Congress approved a number of provisions in the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act for fighting fraud and abuse. It states that one big change is the strengthening of the Medicare screening for applicants and providers revalidating their enrollment. It also mentions that in the proposed screening procedure, Medicare providers are categorized into three risk levels, in which providers in every risk level will be subjected to strong screening measures.
