ABSTRACT
The article reports on the criticisms to the U.S. Democratic Party-sponsored book "The Liberal Papers" in 1962. It states that a batch of Democratic intellectuals collaborated to create the new volume about foreign policy and defense issues in the country. However, Senate Minority Leader Everett M. Dirksen and House Minority Leader Charles A. Halleck argued that if the proposal in the book will be implemented, it will pose a threat to the country's security and economy.
