ABSTRACT
The article reports on the highlights of the visit of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband to Cocos Islands in April 1954. The island is said to be ruled by Scottish copra growers named Clunies-Ross under the British government. John Clunies-Ross and his wife Daphne hosted a garden party at Oceana House. The royal couple received ship models as gifts for their children from the residents of Cocos.
