The article offers an overview on the international market of hardwood in the U.S., particularly on its export and import trade. It notes several factors that affects the U.S. exportation of hardwood including the availability of containers, shipping costs, and the supply of lumber itself. The total U.S. export market of hardwood of 79% consists China, Canada, European Union, and Vietnam. Moreover, China is the largest importer of hardwood lumber, outpacing Canada, and Vietnam.
