ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of teaching religion and social ethics based on the teachings of William Sloane Coffin, a chaplain of Yale University, in the U.S. The course on religion and social ethics is being used to discuss the social problems in contemporary society like racism, economic ethics and national ethics. However, Jeb Stuart Magruder's, a political organizer, experience of taking the religion and social ethics cites the inability of the course to tackle the civil disobedience.
