ABSTRACT
The article discusses political aspects of fiscal policy and the economic stimulus package of U.S. President Barack Obama. The author reflects on the limited success of the stimulus at mitigating unemployment and suggests that the political fallout is the result of the design and implementation of the plan. The author contends that voter opinion on stimulus spending is tied to the relative lack of visibility of economic recovery.
