ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the cause of the commercial reactor accident in Three Mile Island nuclear power station in Pennsylvania. It states that a documentary film prepared by Metropolitan Edison Co., operator of the plant, explains that the accident was a result of equipment failure, ambiguous instruments and operator failures. It mentions that the staff investigators of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) determined that the most serious aspects of the accident were nearly because of human error. Moreover, the NRC investigators say that the operators of the plant paid undue attention to maintaining the coolant from overfilling the reactor.
