ABSTRACT
The article discusses whether senior executives who are about to leave their company should be compensated for their notice period, receive reduced compensation, or get no compensation at all. An explanation of how severance payments are based on contractual notice entitlements is given. According to the author, termination of an executive for poor performance without notice may result in a wrongful dismissal lawsuit and claims for compensation in respect of the notice period.
