Philippine elections rife with misconduct

The article reports on the observation of National Lawyers Guild (NLG) members in the historic May 10, 2010 Philippine election. According to lawyer Jacques Morial, Lanao del Sur can best be described as a democratic disaster area with widespread violations of election laws. Most NLG members personally observed gun battles, vote-buying, fistfights, and military intimidation during the election.
