ABSTRACT
The article offers updates related to state legislations in the U.S. Several U.S. states are balancing their budgets by increasing taxes that adversely impact real estate professionals. U.S. President Barack Obama has signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act which extends the Medicaid coverage to individuals under 65 years old. U.S. states receive federal funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to promote energy independence.
