ABSTRACT
The article discusses the environmental restoration in the rural timber country of Oregon which brings unemployed workers back to work in the woods. Accordingly, Oregon ranked as the top lumber-producing state in the U.S. but workers lost their jobs in the plywood mills in view of the housing mortgage crisis and global recession. However, the 17 million dollars stimulus funds for forest projects in Oregon provided a renaissance of renewal for workers to leave the forest better than before.
