The article profiles several petroleum producing firms in Great Britain. It includes Royal Dutch Shell PLC which is said to have a domestic refining capacity of 282,000 b/d and is planning to sell its North Sea operations as part of its plan to offload its 10 billion-dollar worth of assets. Another is ExxonMobil Corp. which is the owner of the country's largest oil refinery. It also includes BP PLC, which already has an established downstream presence and one of the largest oil operators.
