ABSTRACT
The article highlights the celebrations held in England on February 23, 2010 in observance of the 70th anniversary of the enthronement of the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso. Among the chief guests at the celebrations were family members of British officials who attended the enthronement of the Dalai Lama in 1940. Dalai Lamas are seen as manifestations of Tibet's patron saint and bodhisattva of compassion. The Dalai Lama reflected on his enthronement in his autobiography "Freedom in Exile" and his commitment to human values, religious harmony, and Tibet.
