ABSTRACT
The article reports on the controversy behind the issue concerning the decision of U.S. President Barack Obama to relieve General Stanley McChrystal as the top commander in Afghanistan. It remains a big question whether McChrystal will resign, be fired or retained as the Afghanistan military forces commander because of the disparaging remarks about his civilian counterparts is misplaced. It suggests to focus on the foot soldiers who are carrying out the counterinsurgency mission.
