ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the ability of the proposed United Nations Security Council's resolution to impose sanctions against Iran in stifling its nuclear weapons program. The author says that the resolution will prevent Iran from using its assets and capabilities in the production of nuclear weapons. It also calls on states to monitor the activities of the Iranian central bank related to weapons development and contraband funding. Based on lessons learned from previous sanctions, its effectiveness lies on its implementation.
